With finals quickly approaching, this can be a very stressful time for students. To help reduce the effects of stress and learn techniques that help to achieve a more balanced state, The Counseling Office would like to invite you to participate in a Stress Relief Workshop. The workshop will take place in Room 215, Tuohy Hall on Thursday, December 5 from 11-12pm AND from 2-3pm. Learn how to incorporate breathing and visualization techniques to reduce stress and anxiety. Breathing & Relaxation Workshop
Led by social worker, Denise Dicupe, this workshop will introduce you to deep breathing and breathing awareness, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness, and guided imagery.
These techniques are tools to help; decrease anxiety, stabilize your mood, cope with stress more effectively, make you aware of any tension in areas of your body where you are carrying stress, to be in the present and resist the urge to think about the past or worry about the future while focusing on remaining calm and focused, boost energy and mood, and combining all of your senses (visual, taste, touch, smell, and sound) to focus on a safe and restful place.
Date: Monday, November 19
Time: Common Hour AND 3:15-4:15pm
Location: Counseling Office, Lorenzo Hall 3rd floor
